UNICEF Malaysia is urgently seeking qualified national candidates to fill the below positions.

Senior Finance Assistant (ref. 68517)
Under the supervision of the Chief of Operations, key responsibilities include:
- Maintenance of ledgers and accounting records for classification and recording of financial transactions and for the reconciliation of accounts and preparation of recurring or special reports.
- Maintenance of cash books, including control of disbursements and balancing of books and ledgers
- Preparation of financial data for budget estimates and financial planning.
- Reconciliation of cash books with bank statements.
- Maintaining liaisons with officials of local banks and financial institutions to obtain day-to-day information on exchange and interest rates, changes in procedures and regulations, and matters pertaining to maintenance of office bank accounts.
- Assists in all aspects of accounts maintenance and budget control by providing reports on financial status, procedures, exchange rates, costs and expenditures, and potential funding problems.
- Checks the monthly expenditure reports to ensure that charges are properly allocated and allotments are not exceeded.
- Assists other sections in understanding financial and accounting rules and regulations. Assists in training of government counterparts on UNICEF specific financial and accounting procedures. This includes field visits to provinces and preparation of training materials.

Minimum Qualifications
- University degree in the area of Accounts, Finance or Administration.
- At least seven years of practical work experience in the field of Finance/Administration. Experience in international organizations desirable.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and good knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia required.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization.

ICT Assistant (ref. 68523)
Under the supervision or the Administrative and Finance officer, key responsibilities include:
- Install and maintain ICT hardware equipment and software application. Support technical operation of office-wide computer applications. This involves administering user access to the network, network security, and remote access via Citrix, wireless Internet access and troubleshooting hardware or software problems.
- Provide hardware/software technical support and assistance to all end users. Identify problems and perform maintenance on servers, desktops/laptops, printers, scanners, external portable Asks, flash drives, power supplies and other computer equipment.
- Assist in the assessment of emergency telecommunications in the affected areas and from responding humanitarian actors on the ground. Assist UNICEF staff in the effective use of emergency/security telecommunications equipment and provide user orientation. Coordinate with and provide technical support to the IASC emergency telecommunications cluster when required.
- Create systems documentation including sysadmin and user procedures. Maintain inventory of all hardware/network/telecom equipment and software. Administer IT archives, software disks manuals, documentation, backup tapes and IT consumable supplies within the Zone Office.
- Update and conduct tests of business continuity or disaster recovery procedures in case of fail-over or recovery scenarios of critical IT and telecommunications systems. Conduct regular radio check for all staff and telecom tree exercise.
- Liaise with local suppliers on repair and maintenance of computer hardware/network/telecom equipment. Ensure repaired hardware and software are checked and returned properly. Assist in maintaining contact with service contractor and keep track on follow-up action or progress of services.
Minimum Qualifications
- University degree or equivalent background in Computer Science, Information Science.
- At least five years of practical work experience in technical and administrative work related to computers, networks, remote access or any multi-user computer system. Experience in international organizations desirable.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and good knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia required.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization.
