In a meeting in 10 August 1976, Johor’s state government had decided to make 1st November 1976 as a launch date to reform Local Authority in Batu Pahat district. As such, this district was divided into two councils, Batu Pahat West District Council and Batu Pahat East District Council. On 1st November 1976, Municipal Council was combined with Local Council for Parit Raja, Rengit, Semerah, Senggarang, Sri Gading and Tongkang Pechah and known as Batu Pahat West District Council (MDBPB). Batu Pahat West District Council service was an efficient service and the management had given a move to them to be upgraded. On 1st January 2001, after meeting the criteria that is fixed by Malaysia’s Local Government and with the Commissioner Election Secretary’s agreement, Johor Government Meeting Council had agreed to upgrade Batu Pahat West District Council to Batu Pahat Municipal Council (MPBP).

Applications are invited to the People’s State of Johore or Malaysian citizen who is qualified and not less than 18 years on the closing date positions to fill vacancies in the Batu Pahat Municipal Council (MPBP).

Prior to its establishment in May 1890 to administer Klang town, Klang Local Authority was known as Klang Health Board. Its official boundary was set in 1895, which was later combined with Port Swettenham in December 1945 to form Klang Municipal Board. Further change in the administration came when Klang Town Council was established in 1954. With this new administrative system Klang developed rapidly until 1971 when Port Klang, Kapar and Meru were incorporated to form Klang District Council. With the enforcement of the Local Government Act 1976 (Act 171) and the reorganisation of all local authorities, Klang District Council was upgraded to Klang Municipal Council (KMC) on 1st January 1977.

The efforts to realise a Malay language-based institution in all subjects bore fruit and resulted in The National University Of Malaysia (UKM), in May 18 1970, which opened it’s doors in Lembah Pantai Kuala Lumpur.  The first batch of 192 undergraduates and 2 post-graduates registered at 3 faculties; Science, Arts and Islamic Studies. In 1974 , UKM set up a campus in Kebun Kawang, Papar. Later the place was renamed  Limauan by the then Sabah Chief Minister Tun Datu Mustapha Datu Harun.  The campus housed the Science and Natuiral Resources faculty, which was moved to  Bukit Padang, Kota Kinabalu in 1980. It later relocated to  Menggatal, Tuaran in 1990 along with the faculty of Developmental Science which originally was based in the main campus of Bangi. With the formation of of University malaysia Sabah in 1994, UKM’s Sabah campus was officially closed in 1996 and  the faculties permanently located back tio the main campus in  Bangi, Selangor.
