SENIOR RESERVOIR ENGINEER / JUNIOR RESERVOIR ENGINEER
Scope of Responsibilities
To provide effective reservoir engineering capabilities to Petrofac Malaysia. This will involve all aspects of reservoir engineering and in particular, the building of reservoir simulation models to establish the optimal development of the Cendor Field in the medium and long term, as well as participating in reviews and analysis of new prospects/ opportunities within existing or new block. In addition, projects will be scoped and completed in areas such as EOR, production optimisation and field development planning.
Reservoir Management
- Update medium and long term reservoir management plan
- Build, maintain and update the dynamic reservoir database and simulation models
- Define ways to improve the recovery factor within the field – CO2 injection, artificial lift, water flood pattern, infill drilling, etc
- Prepare medium to long-term production forecasts
- Work closely with the other sub-surface team members to optimise workflows and provide solutions to complex reservoir description and field development issues
- Identify additional opportunities within the PM304 area
- Prepare work scopes, select contractors and efficiently manage out-sourced projects
- Prepare technical and management reports
- Be wiling to assume team leader responsibilities at times
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or Earth Science from a recognised university
- Minimum 10 years of working experience in similar position, preferably with an oil company (fresh graduates or between 1-3 year experience for the junior position)
- Expert in using industry software covering reservoir simulation, well test analysis, wellflow analysis, PVT analysis
- Experience with water floods, gas drive reservoirs and EOR technology with strong foundation in classical reservoir engineering
- Must be proactive and be able to generate and communicate ideas within a group setting
- Be able to work within small teams. Strong teamwork ethic is required
- Display a track record of leadership within a team environment
- Wiling to travel outside Malaysia for short term (up to two weeks) assignments, as and when required

PETROLEUM ENGINEER
To provide effective reservoir management and production engineering capability to Petrofac Malaysia. This will involve well and reservoir monitoring &surveillance for water flooding reservoir, integrated production system modeling, well optimisation, short-term production forecasting and hydrocarbon accounting.
Operational Support
- Monitor day-to-day oil production and water injection. Advise production monthly target consistent with stipulated Reservoir Management Plan (RMP)
- Interface with operations unit to maximise daily production and ensuring high quality data acquisition (e.g well tests data)
- Conduct technical analysis on decline curve, volumetric, material balance, surveillance, outflow, and pressure build up
- Develop plan and strategies to meet short term
production forecast
- Prepare technical and management reports
- Carry out monthly allocations of production and injection volumes
- Propose and jointly implement production optimisation i.e production enhancement initiatives
- Coordinate and develop detailed Wellbore Utility Plan to inventorise surveillance, well work and work over opportunities
- Participate in the design of reservoir and wells surveillance plan (PLT logging, RST sigma logging, PBU test, SBHP surveys, production test campaigns, PVT analysis, FTHP monitoring, etc)
Long Term Reservoir Management
- Work closely with reservoir engineering team to develop longterm production forecast in order to maximise long term oil recovery. Assist in data gathering recommendations as required
- Prepare work scopes, select contractors and manage out-sourced projects efficiently and effectively
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or Earth Science from a recognised university
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in similar position, preferably with an oil company
- Very familiar with software covering well test analysis, well flow analysis. Knowledge in real-time surveillance monitoring will be an added advantage
- Must be able to generate ideas and then communicate/ discuss ideas within the group/across departments
- Able to work within small teams. Strong teamwork ethic required
- Willing to travel offshore and outside of Malaysia as and when required

SENIOR PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGIST

Scope of Responsibilities
Leads production technology activities covering feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed engineering phases of PM304 development project. Participates in development of life cycle production targets and reservoir management objectives, ongoing enhancement of the field production and contractual arrangement together with the other team members.
- Liaising with Project and Drilling in new development to define conceptual and detailed well completion basis (artificial lift, control & optimum completion)
- Hold responsibility for the design of oilfield equipment and well services
- Evaluate operational practices applicable in new development
- Define and execute artificial lift operation and real-time production monitoring system
- Provide technical support in production technology and familiarizes with upgrading technology and best practices deployment to support asset development (artificial lift, production enhancement and flow assurance)
- Set & review standards and Best Practices for Production Technology
- Build an integrated network modeling, identify gaps in the existing production system and recommend production optimisation
- Propose optimisation strategies for improving well productivity including workovers remedial activity and/or reducing downtime based on KPIs and evaluate technical feasibility, initiates pilot projects
- Analyse and define the cause of well performance failures
and generate candidates for productivity enhancement
- Analyse production chemistry effects on well performance (flow assurance)
- Create cost estimate and manage cost, schedule and quality of the respective production enhancement services to be executed by service contractors
- Participate in HAZOP’s, risk assessments and other workshops as required for project execution
- Provides key link between subsurface group, drilling & well construction, production operations and other parties
Skills & Qualifications
- The incumbent must have a Bachelor in Science degree in Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on Production Technology experience
- Extended experience and knowledge of Best Practices in Production Technology, production / lifting of oil & gas etc.
- Experience with high-end software and familiar with standard Well Modeling, Field Optimisation, Nodal Analysis, Decision Analysis and Artificial Lift Design
- Knowledge of Field Management (mature fields operations, production operations, drilling, asset management, interaction with authorities, etc.)
- Proven experience in artificial lift and flow assurance
- Experience of working in multi-disciplinary and multicultural teams

SENIOR GEOPHYSICIST
Scope of Responsibilities
Work in an integrated multi-disciplinary team and able to exercise leadership and provide mentoring to younger professionals. Responsible for integrated geophysical interpretation and mapping for development and appraisal projects. Able to plan and envision seismic acquisition and/or processing programs for PML interests.
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Geophysics/Geology or related sciences
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the petroleum industry doing geophysics and seismic interpretations
- Conversant with 2D, 3D and volume interpretation techniques, reservoir characterisation and the application of qualitative and quantitative seismic data analysis
- Good software skill for geophysical related applications
especially on 2D/3D and volume interpretations
- Independent and self motivated to deliver and accomplish world-class results
- Leadership, project management/planning and mentoring experience/skills are added advantage

SENIOR DEVELOPMENT GEOLOGIST
Scope of Responsibilities
Work in an integrated multi-disciplinary team and able to exercise leadership and provide mentoring to younger professionals. Ensure quality control and analyse all geological data, including geophysical, sedimentological, petrological and incorporate these data into integrated interpretations. Construct reservoir models and characterisation for field development projects. Provide geological support and monitoring of development program/wells.
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Geology or related sciences
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the petroleum industry with at least 10 years of working in development geology
- Conversant in reservoir characterisation and geostatistical reservoir modeling technical/business knowledge to efficiently screen development opportunities in new areas
- Practical knowledge of controls on reservoir quality and petrophysics – ability to work in conjunction with project petrophysicist
- Knowledge in resource and risk analysis
- Independent and self motivated to deliver and accomplish world-class results

SENIOR PETROPHYSICIST
Scope of Responsibilities
Identify and perform appropriate petrophysical studies of reservoirs and fluids. Be the focal point for the Subsurface Team for petrophysical technical studies or requests from partners, authorities, etc. Implement petrophysical evaluations including conventional and special core analysis, log analysis, reservoir characterisation and saturation modeling for input to reservoir models. Maintain petrophysics database and utilise petrophysical data to assist calibration and forward modeling of expected 3D and 4D seismic responses. Design and implementation of petrophysical data gathering program to improve reservoir understanding. Prepare comprehensive documentation for analytical and interpretive data.
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Geosciences or Petroleum Engineer or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of experience in petrophysical analysis and interpretation
- Experience in the application of well data analysis, and logging operations processes
- Must have strong computer skills, good oral & written communication skills
