Chief Accountant
Reporting to Finance Manager. Chief Accountant will lead Finance Team In Berantai Asset. Chief Accountant will be responsible on areas that cover Operational Accounting, Financial & Management Reporting, Budgeting, Treasury/ Cash Management, Risk Service Contract (RSC) accounts and internal control matters.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with financial and accounting requirement of the Risk Sharing Contract (RSC) and Joint Operating Agreement (JOA)
- Management of PSC/ JOA compliance ensuring all contract obligations are met, whilst maintaining maximum cost recovery for Petrofac and its partners
- Work together with Senior Management team on cost recovery to sustain Joint Venture’s return on investment
- Responsible for management of RSC cost recovery audit process, engagement of local audit firm, preparation of cost recovery statements and all supporting schedules
- Involve in project and drilling monitoring/ auditing from the perspective of financial and accounting compliance and their associated performance indicators
- AFE management/ stewardship and coordinate with project and drilling for spending performance and ensure timely supplements if required
- Lead the implementation on Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) for Berantai Asset
- Responsible in maintaining and updating Finance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ensure accurate book keeping of local accounting records, taxes, bank accounts, insurance, internal/ external reporting and tax filings
- Develop and recommend changes to accounting policies and procedures
- Audit focal point to PETRONAS, Joint Venture partners and external auditors
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant
- Minimum 8 years of working experience in oil & gas Upstream PSC, with minimum 3 years at supervisory level
- Exposure with PSC and JOA. Familiar with PSC’s fiscal lamas
- Possess good interpersonal, problem-solving, analysis, judgement, decision-making skills and able to communicate effectively at all levels
- Oracle knowledge, project valuation experience and exposure to economic models mould be an added advantage
- A great team player with good leadership skills
Senior Tax Accountant
Reporting to Finance Manager. Senior Tax Accountant will be the tax focal point for Petrofac Energy Development’s business in Malaysia.
Main Responsibilities:
- To support the business in considering new projects and implementation of those projects
- To work with other members of the global tax team to ensure consistency of approach throughout the Group
- To correctly report tax figures throughout the year as required
- To conduct periodic Tax Audits: corporation tax, payroll, service tax
- To provide tax support to systems and processes to ensure tax information is accurately reported
- Take responsibility for subsequent tax compliance
- To support implementation in Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
- To work with Business Development teams to analyse and understand projects, with a view to advise on: structuring of transaction, tax implications on project economics, funding and risk
- Advise and comment on contractual arrangements and review of legal documentation
- To be aware of potential tax changes which may affect Petrofac and keep Senior Management appropriately appraised
- Tax focal point for general advisory: Income Tax Act, Petroleum Tax Act. Sales and service taxes, payroll taxes Requirements:
- Minimum Degree in Accountancy or Finance
- Minimum 8 years of relevant tax experience
- Specialise in Income Tax and Petroleum Tax, with experiences In International Tax
- Possess good interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively at all levels
